As everyone knows, Netflix’s video streaming business offers more than simply episodes to its members. He also contributes to the production of feature films.
Netflix is one of the best providers of high-quality programming globally, with everything from popular teen dramas to what they label “negative situation comedy.” On the other hand, Netflix does not stop there: it also produces excellent films. Of course, they raise more issues than serial productions, but some very fascinating images are among the red-letter studio’s full-length films.
We Present the Top 10 Best Movies on Netflix:
The Irishman
A supposedly true story told by mafia hitman Frank Sheeran, nicknamed The Irishman. Sheeran resides in a nursing home and, at the end of his life, tells reporters about how he became who he became, what he did, and, most importantly, sheds light on where disappeared union leader Jimmy Hoffa, whose case is still not found. The picture perfectly shows the interaction of trade unions, the mafia, and the secret services of that time. Those who are interested are welcome. Moreover, the project was directed by Martin Scorsese himself, and well-known Hollywood stars Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, and Joe Pesci starred in the film.
Extraction
A former commando, and now a soldier of fortune, is hired for an interesting job. He must rescue a child kidnapped by Bangladeshi Mafiosi from Indian Mafiosi. And he hires him through an intermediary, as it turned out, a security guard who was entrusted with protecting the little boy like the apple of his eye, but he did not cope with this.
The payment was to be made upon the boy’s delivery to the border. But the employer was not going to pay. He decided that it would be much easier to recapture the boy from the mercenary than from the mafia of Bangladesh.
Moneyball
The best sports movies are worth watching, even if you don’t know the sport in question, which is baseball, in the case of Moneyball 2011. Brad Pitt plays Billy Bean, the former general manager of the Oakland Athletics who used statistics to build a winning team despite having little money to spend on players.
If that doesn’t sound exciting to you, rest assured that the movie turns that premise into a dazzling underdog story – one that inspires. Constellations by John Hill.
One of four films on this list of the best Netflix movies written by The West Wing’s Aaron Sorkin, Moneyball manages to explain the complex shenanigans behind Bean’s strategy without making it sound boring. It’s a feat and arguably Pitt’s best performance in history.
Divines
The worst was left behind the scenes in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind, and the overall message came out quite optimistic. But “Divine” is a film about poverty in the Parisian slums, in which there is not an ounce of hope. Dunya is fifteen, her mother drinks herself at home, at school, teachers who know this world too well do not instill in students an unreasonable belief in happy endings, and drug dealers and rapists are much more common on the streets than they should be. But the latter at least enjoy what they have, and for a teenager, ghostly pleasure is more important than health, education, and something else that is available only to those who can buy an iPhone. Dunia does not even choose the wrong path – it seems that she was born on it and remained an abandoned child in the middle of a broken, wet highway.
Bright
Next on the list is a story that would make Gandalf repaint back to grey. David Eyre and Mark Landis made an action movie about the modern world, in which orcs, elves, and centaurs live together with people, and one of the main characters here is the first orc police officer in history.
The Lord of the Rings is probably a historical encyclopedia in this alternate universe. Even though the orc was allowed to serve in the police, he is still treated with suspicion and contempt. The elves are more trustworthy, but soon sectarians are found among these, who are looking for magic wands to resurrect the local Sauron. Who will go for this? Yes, at least the fans of “Carnival Row” – similar motives, but without romantic lines; the scenery is more modern, and instead of sticky European gloominess – the sandpaper of the American ghetto.
El Camino: A Breaking Bad Movie
Continuation of the cult project about chemistry teacher Walter White and his drug business. The sequel focuses on the fate of Jesse Pinkman, White’s young accomplice. Fans asked to finish the story – Netflix finished. Neatly, logically and preserving the original cast.
The Highwaymen
Spectacular action, reckless romance on the verge of madness, and a symphony of shooting and screeching brakes – all this will not happen here. There were only two short rangers, retro cars, and deserted American landscapes – succinctly and factually.
Bonnie and Clyde are some of the most famous bandits in history. Movies and songs are dedicated to them, and their love in mass culture almost reaches the level of the romance of Romeo and Juliet. Except Romeo didn’t do drunken executions in bars, and Juliet didn’t rob stores or smoke Camel. Bonnie and Clyde can be drowned in lyrics all you want, but they remain thieves and murderers who ruined people’s lives during the Great Depression. However, “In Pursuit” is not about that, but about the heroes who never wore masks and, having caught the No. 1 criminal couple, did not even give interviews to reporters but silently left to continue their work. Two Texas Rangers – Frank Hamer and Manny Gault – are the main duo of the picture, and the audience here will see Bonnie and Clyde only in a pre-known ending.
The Devil All the Time
Almost nothing is clear. And all because in the film, several plots run in parallel at once, which originate in the distant past and merge in the finale. In the center of the plot is the son of a citizen disillusioned with God, from whom this very God took his wife, a priest who, with his strange sermon, aroused in the said citizen a craving for unnatural worship of God, as well as a couple of mentally unstable maniacs who trade in murders not to be bored. Was, and the padre, a little carried away by evil.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse
There’s no question that The Spider-Verse Spider-Man is the best animated Spider-Man movie ever made, but honestly, it could even steal the title of the best Spider-Man movie ever made. Spider. A terrifying story set across universes and timelines, and the original Spider-Man Peter Parker must teach the new Spider-Man how to save the world over a single web. As more Spider-Men (and Spider-Women!) get involved in Miles’ training, everyone involved soon realizes that it’s not the mask that makes the hero. It’s the hero that makes the mask. Inspiring, touching, and extremely well-written, Spider-Man in the Spider-Verse deserves a look.
The boy who harnessed the wind
The US National Security Agency found that in 2004-2005 more than twenty thousand people died of hunger every day. And at the same time, the first private spacecraft went into space, cybersport was recognized as an official sport (in Russia for the first time in the world, by the way), a virtual Kingdom of gays and lesbians appeared on the Coral Islands, and Stephen Hawking solved the paradox of the disappearance of information in a black hole. But while the world was living a normal life and looking to a high-tech future, William Kamkwamba from a Malawian village built a wind generator to save his village from drought. And even though the locals laughed at him, his father considered William’s idea a waste of time.
