The pool is often overcrowded with people crammed up against each other in inflatable inner tubes. The sheer number of people in this wave pool makes it a dangerous wave pool that you shouldn’t visit.
Calypso Themed Waterpark, Ottawa

The Cowabunga bay water pool in Henderson Nevada has had not just one but two major incidents in its wave pool. In 2015 a six-year-old boy had a close call when he almost drowned in the pool. He was revived but the parents of the young boy sued the wave pool. Claiming that there were not enough lifeguards on duty and that children were not wearing life jackets. Sadly though it seems that safety improvements were not made. A few years later an 8-year-old boy drowned in the wave pool. The incident took place on June 19, 2017. The boy was found lifeless in the pool and CPR was administered. But the boy did not survive again a lack of lifeguards and safety precautions were blamed for this boy’s untimely death.

Including ocean type waves that produce strong currents in the pool. As such many people claim that neither pool is particularly safe. But of the two pools, only Captain Jack’s has caused a fatality. In 2009 a 49-year-old man was found unresponsive in the Captain Jack wave pool. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

With waves as high as 40 inches are cause for concern. In fact, people that have visited the wave pool claimed that lifeguards are constantly rescuing exhausted swimmers from drowning. Yulong Xiu Yin Water Wave Pool, China
The wave pool at the Yulong Xiu yin water park in Long Jing China made headlines on July 30th, 2019. When a wave machine malfunctioned. The malfunction caused a massive tsunami type wave to barrel across the wave pool. Crashing over everyone in its path. The wave was around nine feet high and the pool was very full. Some people landed violently on the pavement that surrounds the pool.
A total of 44 people were injured in the catastrophe which is the highest wave pool injury ever recorded. People were rushed to nearby hospitals where it was discovered that several people had broken their ribs. This is the first major incident at the park. But the incident was so catastrophic that footage of the rogue wave quickly went viral. The incident was caused by a power cut in the tsunami control room. The power cut affected the electronic equipment that controls the waves allowing the waves to become far too big.
